Its been a long time

Its the first time since I joined office that I am visiting my blog. I used to wonder how people vanish once they have kids..now I wont complain :)
Krish had his Mottai (Javal) ceremony in Madurai, appreciate the professionalism of the barber amazing speed with which he cut his hair and that of the ear peircing guy. With Krish crying, and chaos around the way we he peirced Krish's ears was awesome.
First family trip with my in-laws, was good indeed.

Trip to Pondicherry

It was Krish's first trip to Pondi...3 hrs drive with a little bit of crying was indeed an indication I am ready to travel :). Tatta and Auwa (Grandfather and Grandmother) were happy to have Krish and he was at home instantaneously. I got a chance to show off a bit of my Tamil speaking skills, not sure if Mom and Dad were impressed :). My greatest moment was buying all the decorative items for our apt, we bought from Sunday bazar..Will put up the pics .The Wind Chime, the shell curtain, terracotta Ganesh and (lady, ganesh, birdies) all made of shells. We also got a conch shell ....Must say I am happy with the results after putting all these things in place :) .

We moved....

from 1 apt to another in the same complex.Its still a move and things are yet to be setup but on 4th floor its breezy and there seems to be lot of sunshine for my little sunshine.
PS : What would.. you say we moved or we shifted :P

Chinese..

This is not about the Chinese products that seem to have flooded the Indian market...I just made some Chinese noodles :) as my cook is on leave today. I loved them, the other food critique is yet to taste it :)

Munch's Stroller

Today me and Munch had lunch, afternoon snacks, a long walk ..all in the brand new stroller.
Yesterday we shopped at Baby Lou an awesome kids shoppe in Chennai. It did make us feel like kids :)

Shopping at PNG - Pune

We sisters Smi,Lee and me went shopping for Adhik maas, with Krish and Archit in tow..I never thought I would indulge in these festivals, but its fun. Ppl in Pune can't seem to get enough of PNG (Gadgil...), Known for its quality it still had the same hustle bustle and seems like this place will never sleep !

Munch in Pune

Munch seems to njoy all the attention of Pune Ajoba, Maushis, Kakas and Favorite Mama/i. It just feels like good ol Summer Holidays :) with Archit and Krish being everbodys sweethearts :)

Bringing up Krish...

I read a book - Bringing up Vasu : That First year by Parul Sharma. Could relate with every moms dream of being a SuperMom , who is chic and does everything right and pitfalls of being First time Mom...The stmt But I just fed him , to the classic dilemma of Diaper Vs Nappy everything seems to be happening with everybody. Somewhere u feel happy , I am not the only one ! Dont worry I am not writing a book, Parul has already written one !

Fake Player

Heard a live story of forgery..the candidate say C who joined office was not the candidate who had appeared for the interview.
As luck would have it , C joined the same dept as that of the interviewer . The interviewer convinced that this is not the person interviewed brought this to the attention of HR. HR acted on it and later C confessed to forgery.

Such things are mostly in newspapers or in fiction ..but here it was reality !

Chain Kulli Ki Main Kulli ki Jai

Lucy Liu mouthing Amitabh's Dialogue "Chain Chain Kulli Ki Main Kulli ki Jai" in the Hindi dubbed version of "Charlies Angels" had me in splits.

Its usually fun to see an English movie dubbed in Hindi , hilarious translation! Even funnier is to read the English subtitles for Hindi songs :) !!

Crafty..

I really wanted to participate in the Artsy Craftsy event organized by Mindfull Meanderings , I guess I am late. Here's my Robo and Dolly made of Munch's Rattle :).

This is the simplest one and the rattles that fail to attract kids as they grow up can be used to tell many a tales!
As kids we had an entire family made of Alphonso mango seeds (Koya as we call in Marathi). After eating the mango, wash the seeds and paint different faces, its got natural hair too :). I do remember scaring one of the kids with one of these :D !!
All the enteries at the Artsy Craft event are amazing and heartning to see the creative side of all the Mommies!!

McD - Drive Thru

Drive Thru in Mc-Donald in India Velachery , 1st of its kind atleast for me in India was indeed an experience.
We were the only ones in line, counter girls having fun at the Drive Thru counter ( giggling...:)) , effort to talk in English , handing out coupons as might be the sales strategy were adorabe.Our order Yummy Veg burger and Chicken burger with Fries and Coke came along very quickly, but they took only cash no plastic. There is still some time before it could be real smooth but albeit a great start. Specifically the time it took to get our meal will make me Drive Thru again !

Book and Borrow !

The home delivery of books on similar lines of Net Flix in US for CDs and DVDs here in India. What bliss ! Visit Book and borrow, their collection is impressive.Thanks to the another blogger Art Navy.

To Kill a Mocking Bird ....A classic. I remembered it as Debras favorite book , she has written paper on in during college. Debra question Raymond what is the book abt and Raymond says something abt Bird :). Thats Raymond ! Everybody loves Raymond one of my fav show , I can just relate to Debra !
This was more abt Raymond then abt the book , thats me.. but I would say Must Read !

Munch got a sister

My sis- in- law had a baby girl. Thanks to Mom's determination the "precious" child is born all pinky pink as the dad says

Dhak Dhak -- Go India Go

My first ever hockey match , thrilling exciting ! India - Pakistan World Cup match !
4 goals each thanks to the excellent teamwork and presence of mind. The Penalty corners converted into goals I was all there for 70 mins. Being there when India defeated Pakistan after 35 years made me real proud ! As if I had played the game and won it ..He He ..I was just one of the many spectators who felt Chak de India all throughout the game !

Munch's bathing time !

Munch wakes up early around 6:00 AM and plays all by himself for about an hour cooing gargling, looking around. Around 8:00 AM its bathing time with Nagamma Patti . Its interesting to see the way patti bathes him.The baby talk that follows with Munch "Amma paar", "Appan..Tanni uttano, pal kudunga, tunga" .Her fav being "Sudd illai" for the bathing water.
She says it so often we named her "Sudda illai paati"
Powder poda, sattai poda ....Then its sleeping time for lil Munch !

Trip down the memory lane

Today me and my hubby had tup sakhar poli (roti with ghee and sugar ). it was enough to take me down the memory lane.
In my childhood Tup Sakhar Poli , Dhamak ladu (ladoo made of roti ghee sugar) , mauchi kheer(sago pudding) were some of the intersting ways to get us eating. Now with Krish I am sure to again try these tricks !

Valaikappu and Dohal Jevan

I recently attended Valaikappu function for my sis-in-law and couldn't help but compare it with Dohal Jevan which i am familiar with.Different names and different customs but the underlying thought remains the same, pray for the well being of the baby !
